A symbol tied to the category
The faceted tooth combines an immediate dental reference with a geometric construction that can work independently of a campaign image.
Identity & product storytelling
Giving a technical training product a distinctive visual presence.
01 / Context
Dental carving wax belongs to a technical training context. The design challenge was to communicate the product category clearly while creating a visual identity that could hold its own across product and campaign imagery.
I used a faceted tooth symbol to connect precision with the brand name’s gemstone association. Blue creates a consistent technical setting, while the different wax colours add a clear product distinction.
02 / Approach
The geometric mark gives the identity structure. Sculptural tooth forms keep the product recognisable, and miniature-worker scenes dramatise the idea of shaping and refining a material.
Turn a technical quality into a clear visual signature.
The faceted tooth combines an immediate dental reference with a geometric construction that can work independently of a campaign image.
Blue and white create continuity across the brand. The product’s red, blue, black and yellow variants provide contrast within that setting.
Product compositions make the range clear. Training scenes and miniature-worker concepts give the specialist category a more expressive story.
03 / Project collection
The campaign uses realistic training contexts alongside more imaginative production scenes. Keeping the tooth form central makes the category legible even when the environment becomes cinematic. Repeated product colours connect those scenes back to the range.
04 / Motion & interaction
05 / Design outcome
A distinctive dental-product identity with a connected family of range presentations, training imagery and campaign scenes.
Specialist categories can be expressive without losing clarity. Keep the category cue obvious, then use the surrounding world to give it character.
